On August 9th, photographer Cristina headed towards La Ermita de la Caridad, a beautiful church located near the ocean, for her engagement photo shoot with Yadira and Joel.

With a ring on her finger, passion in her eyes and love in her heart, Yadira couldn’t look more beautiful. Feeling protected in the arms of the one she loved, the bride-to-be looked ahead at their future with excitement and hope. Joel felt like he was the luckiest man alive.

The agitated turquoise ocean offered a stunning background for Yadira and Joel’s engagement photo shoot. The ocean breeze gently caressed the two lovers, amplifying the emotion of the moment. Rain started pouring, but the engagement shoot continued. Cristina embraced the challenge. She managed to capture the alluring charm of the falling water drops, giving her photos a dramatic yet romantic feel.

La Ermita de la Caridad holds a special place in the couple’s hearts, as it reminds them of Cuba. The church is “a beautiful place of contemplation and worship, open to people of all faiths and denominations this small but energetic shrine celebrates the Cuban people’s Roman Catholic patron saint, the Virgin of Charity and it is a more than fitting spot as Lent approaches for one to turn their thoughts to both devotion and prayer”, says Roberto P on his review on Yelp.

“There were many details that contributed to a successful engagement photo shoot”, says Cristina. The location, its rich history, strong symbolism and the ocean views, created an emotional atmosphere worth capturing. “It was an enjoyable day. Yadira and Joel are friendly, fun and a pleasure to work with”, adds Cristina.
