How much does a wedding photographer typically cost?

The price of hiring a wedding photographer and very greatly from affordable to cost-prohibitive. but a good average would be in the $1,500 to $2,500 price range.  The cost of a wedding photographer is also affected by the location i.e. what city the wedding is in. And also it is affected whether you have one wedding photographer or two.

Do Miami Wedding Photographers go to the rehearsal?

In general, most wedding photographers do not attend the rehearsal the day before the wedding. From our experience we are asked to attend maybe one rehearsal per year and we are photographing more than one hundred weddings each year.  Having your wedding photographer attend the rehearsal does not really help the photographer and in some ways it could  just get in the way of your bridal party learning what they need to do on your wedding day.

What do most wedding photography packages include?

Most wedding photography packages include the following: 

• A planning meeting in advance to discuss your wedding with your wedding photographer.
• A certain number of hours with your wedding photographer typically 2 to 12 hours. On average 7 hours.
• Editing and retouching of the photos. Delivered edited wedding photos anywhere from 200 to 1000 finished digital files.
• Some type of online gallery photos and also an online ordering system so you can order prints and enlargements of your wedding. 
• Some wedding pictures will include a wedding App.
• Your wedding photographer will deliver your wedding photos either via a Dropbox electronic download emailed USB thumb drive.

Optional items that your wedding photographer in your package, are the following:

• A second photographer for assistant photographer
• A videographer
• Live stream of the ceremony.
• Engagement photo shoot with your wedding photographer.
• Finally, a custom-designed wedding album.

How do you price wedding photography packages?

In general we base our wedding photography on a few criteria including how long we are there; how many photographers are we bringing; the location of the wedding i.e. is it far away or close;  the size of your wedding for example do you have 20 people or 200; and finally are we including a print and enlargement package or album; and are we bringing a videographer.

Is 6 hours of wedding photography enough?

From our experience  6 hours of coverage with your wedding photographer can be a very good amount of time for your wedding. Last year we did 93 weddings and the average coverage was 7 hours. 6 hours should be sufficient for your typical wedding. If you have multiple locations on your wedding day such as getting ready for one location and the guys getting ready at a 2nd location, ceremony in one location, and reception in a different location, this would require considerable more hours with your wedding photographer.

How many pictures should you get from your wedding photographer?

We tell our clients we will deliver at least 50 edited photos per hour that we are shooting.  So,  a 7-hour wedding you would receive at least 350 edited photos.  If we have two photographers, you would receive at least 80 edited images per hour.

Should I have one or two photographers at my wedding?

Do photographers eat at weddings?

Most clients do fee their wedding vendors when the time commitment or contract is 4 hours or more. We do not require this in our contract but the majority of our clients do provide a vendor meal.  Most of the wedding venues offer a discounted price for vendor meals that you can provide for your wedding photographer.

Do wedding photographers give all photos?

 In general no. Part of the reason you’re hiring a wedding photographer is for us to go through all the photos that we took. You don’t want the photos where people’s eyes are closed or the flash didn’t go off or you have an embarrassing look on your face. It is our job to go through all of them and select the best. But rest assured we will select every photo and edit and retouch them for you .

Do wedding photographers retouch photos?

Yes, your wedding photographer should edit and retouch your photos. We include standard editing with all weddings. Standard editing includes things like cropping, alignment, exposure correction, contrast, white balance, color correction and with close-ups of the bride and groom we will do red eye removal and teeth and eye whitening.

What do wedding photographers not edit?

What is not included in our standard editing is what is called image altering. Wedding photographers define image altering as slimming or weight reduction, or eye swaps, removing people or objects from photos. All of these edits cost extra. Please inquire if interested in these services.

How important is a second photographer at a wedding?

We believe a second photographer at a wedding is very helpful. If you are having a very small, short, one-location wedding, one photographer is sufficient. If you have a long wedding, or multiple locations on your wedding day, a second wedding photographer is extremely helpful and you will receive photos that just one photographer cannot achieve.

How long do I need a photographer for at my wedding?

It depends what you’re planning for your wedding day. If you are doing a simple elopement with one hour on the beach, you may only need one hour with a wedding photographer. If you have 150 guests, four different locations during the day of your wedding and you have hair and makeup starting early that day and the party going until midnight, you probably need at least 8 hours with your wedding photographer.

Where do wedding photographers sit?

Wedding photographers and videographers do not sit during the wedding. We are usually walking around documenting the event.

How long does it take a photographer to edit photos?

We are one of the quickest studios in all of Florida to deliver edited photos and edited video. We tell our clients they will receive their edited content within 3 weeks of the wedding day. Our main competitor is delivering their edited content on average in 3 months.

Do you need a photographer at the wedding?

It really depends on your budget. We understand that not everyone can afford to have a professional wedding photographer and videographer at their wedding. You may be just fine having a family or friend document your day but make sure your expectations are reasonable for the outcome. But, if you want to make sure you have professional memories of your day then it is wise to hire a professional wedding photographer.

How can I save money when hiring a Miami Wedding Photographer?

One of the easiest ways to save money with your wedding photographer is to limit the number of hours they are working on your wedding day. If you request unlimited coverage on the day of your wedding, the price is going to be high. But, if you can get away with a small number of hours you will save a lot of money with your wedding budget. Another way to save money with your wedding photographer is to print your own photos and design your own wedding album.
